Jess--I think it's probably perfect for his size/age now and in the coming months. When he was a teeny newborn it was harder to use. He LOVED it this time, though! (Honestly 9/10 I just take a "big bath" with him, LOL, but I'm sure that will change once he starts solids and gets dirtier in every way.)
