So I had my midwife appointment today and their conclusion?
Apparently I'm far too perky to be going into labor any time soon.
They said I need to be far more miserable before I can expect to go into labor. I need to stop being able to sleep and feel tired and cranky all the time, and my stomach needs to get a lot, lot, bigger. In fact, since Lil James settled into my pelvis, I went from measuring 2 cms ahead to measuring 2 behind. So today I was only measuring 34 cms. :-/
I'm not sure what to think about this. After my false labor scare of last week, I definitely had a few days where I thought for sure this baby was coming early. But then, that feeling faded and I was left thinking to myself that I had at least a month left. Honestly I know it is better for him to cook for a few more weeks, and right now I'm content with that.
Perhaps this content-ness is the perkiness they refer to? The midwives are betting on a Thanksgiving baby--they are hoping for double desserts. ;-)

You don't have to be miserable to have a baby...
My OB told me on Thursday that she was pretty sure she would see me the next week, but Peter came on Sunday. I spent the day I went into labor shopping and painting, and just having a grand ol' time. James will be here when he's ready, regardless of how you feel!
Yeah, I feel like we have had a lot of early babies among our WTT friends! It's pretty crazy!
I kind of expected to go early, since all the women in my family do by at least two weeks. It also seems that we all have our water break first.
I'm looking forward to seeing James, so I know you are for sure! :)
I think that unless it runs in your family that your midwives are probably right. :)
I was so sick of being pregnant by the end but was still doing pretty good until about week 40- then I was really over it and in a lot of pain, and by week 41 I was miserable. This misery helped the 26 hour labor be something to look forward to instead of something to dread. If pregnancy was easy at the end women would never want to go into labor;)
I also tried EVERYTHING to get Teddy to come out sooner and none of it helped. Although next time I think my midwives will be more supportive of doing some herbs closer to 40 weeks as I just don't think I can give birth to much more then 10 pounds!
I hope your wait doesn't drag by at a snails pace like mine did:)
Yeah I am really hoping it isn't too long at the end. Right now I feel like I have something going on every day--hopefully that keeps up!
Yeah having stuff going on helps a ton! I also started getting massages at the end which went a long way to help with my back pain.
Hmm, that sounds like a good idea! I even have a free massage gift cert from my MIL from ages ago--maybe it is time to use it!
